Rossi: Jangan Buat Kesalahan Sepertiku, Marquez

Valencia - Meski unggul cukup jauh atas Jorge Lorenzo, Marc Marquez diminta untuk tidak jemawa jelang final MotoGP di Valencia. Marquez diingatkan untuk tidak membuat kesalahan seperti yang dilakukan Valentino Rossi, tujuh tahun lalu.

Ada 13 poin yang kini menjadi pemisah jarak Marquez dengan Lorenzo di posisi teratas klasemen MotoGP. Dengan komposisi seperti itu, Marquez tinggal butuh finis di posisi empat pada MotoGP Valencia yang akan digelar pada 10 Nevember mendatang untuk merebut gelar juara dunia.

Mengingat Marquez selalu menuntaskan balapan di atas podium - di luar kecelakaan di Italia dan diskualifikasi pada race di Phillip Island -- rookie 20 tahun itu lebih diunggulkan bakal bisa jadi kampiun musim ini. 

Tapi, Rossi meminta Marquez tidak jemawa dengan keunggulannya kini. Pernah berada di situasi serupa di musim 2006, The Doctor menyebut kalau segala hal bisa terjadi dan membatalkan kemenangan yang ada di depan mata.

"Saya harap Marquez menjalani situasi yang tidak sama seperti saya di 2006. Apakah saya ketika itu punya keunggulan delapan poin atas Hayden? Saya tidak ingat. Marc punya keunggulan yang lebih besar dibanding yang saya punya (ketika itu) dan karena itulah dia akan tetap jadi favorit," sahut Rossi di Marca.

Di musim 2006, Rossi dan Nicky Hayden terlibat persaingan sengit menjadi juara dunia. Kompetisi antara keduanya bahkan berlangsung sampai seri terakhir, yang juga digelar di Valencia.

Rossi ketika itu dalam posisi unggul delapan poin, dan jadi unggulan untuk merebut gelar juara dunianya yang keenam secara beruntun. Posisi start terdepan makin membuat dia diunggulkan kembali bertakhta.

Namun Rossi malah terjatuh di lap kelima. Dia bisa melanjutkan balapan, namun hanya finis ke-13. Gelar juara dunia pun melayang ke tangan Hayden, yang menuntaskan balapan di urutan tiga.

"Saat Anda bertarung memperebutkan gelar juara dunia, segala hal bisa terjadi. Valencia menjadi akhir pekan yang sulit, itu bisa saja hujan, bisa dingin, bisa menjadi balapan dengan separuh aspal, dan tahun lalu itu menjadi balapan 'flag to flag' (mengganti motor)," ujar Rossi lagi.

Motegi - Valentino Rossi harus puas menuntaskan balapan di posisi keenam meski mengawali MotoGP Jepang dengan baik. Ia semua karena kesalahan si pebalap Italia itu.

Rossi melakukan start bagus pada balapan yang digelar di sirkuit Motegi, Minggu (27/10/2013) siang WIB itu. Memulai lomba dari posisi lima, pebalap Yamaha ini sukses menyodok ke posisi dua. Ia berada di belakang Jorge Lorenzo dan mengungguli duo Honda, Marc Marquez dan Dani Pedrosa.

Namun posisi ini tak berhasil ia pertahankan dengan lama. Di penghujung lap kedua, enam kali juara dunia ini melebar, tepatnya di turn 11. Ia pun turun dua posisi ke urutan empat setelah dilewati Marquez dan Pedrosa.

Rossi kembali harus turun peringkat setelah melakukan kesalahan serupa di lap berikutnya. Tak tanggung-tanggung, kali ini ia harus rela turun hingga posisi 11. Meski kemudian berjuang habis-habisan untuk memperbaiki posisinya, pebalap 34 tahun ini pada akhirnya hanya mampu finis keenam.

"Saya melakukan start yang bagus tapi pada lap kedua ketika tiba di tikungan 11, rem saya tidak mencengkeram cukup kuat sehingga masuk tikungan terlalu dalam dan turun dua posisi," ujar Rossi seperti dilansir situs resmi MotoGP.

"Di lap berikutnya hal yang sama terulang. Tapi kali ini murni kesalahan saya karena seharusnya mengingat itu dari lap sebelumnya, bahwa remnya tidak cukup mencengkeram. Saya tidak bisa bertahan di trek dan kehilangan banyak posisi," lanjutnya.

"Setelah itu, saya mencoba untuk melakukan upaya maksimal. Kecepatan motor cukup bagus dan saya berpikir bisa saja finis keempat, tapi memang tidak cukup untuk naik podium," tandas peraih sembilan kali juara dunia ini.

Hasil ini tak mengubah posisi Rossi di klasemen pebalap. Ia berada di urutan empat dengan nilai 224, unggul 36 poin dari Cal Crutchlow dan tertinggal 56 angka dari Dani Pedrosa.
